Most event signage is functional. It tells people where to sit, what time things start, which room to go to. It does its job quietly, and nobody really gives it a second thought.
Something hand-painted or hand-lettered hits differently. People stop in front of it. They snap it for their stories on arrival, before they’ve found their seat or poured a drink. It has presence in a way that a printed display board could only dream of.
